Enduro First Aid

Cost: Seminar free to members. $20 donation requested to cover cost of refreshments and lunch.
Course Summary: This course will provide basic instruction in wilderness first aid with special attention to enduro related injuries and accident scenarios. The course will be led by club rider and professional paramedic Dan Shugar. Dan is a club rider with extensive experience responding to traumatic injuries while serving as a primary care paramedic for the City of Ottawa. With over 8 years riding experience, Dan is familiar with the sport of enduro and can bring his recent experience with city’s rapid response team to guide course participants through common emergency scenarios.
Registration: As there are a limited number of vacancies (20), prior registration is required.
The seminar will include both classroom and practical accident scenarios, drills, and practice.

- Anatomy & Physiology 101
- Patient Assessment System
- Basic Life Support
- Musculoskeletal Injuries
- Traumatic Injuries
- Patient Stabilization and Evacuation
Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately and come prepared to participate in practical classroom demonstrations.
As we expect this seminar to be quite popular, vacancies will be allocated on a priority basis to those members wishing to volunteer as guides/sweeps during club rides. However, everyone with an interest is encouraged to register.
