Date: March 9, 2019
Location: Marlborough Hall at Pierces Corner. near North Gower
Cost: Seminar free to members. $20 donation requested to cover cost of refreshments and lunch.
Course Summary: This second annual seminar is designed to help riders find their way using GPS navigation systems. The course will be led by Lee Martin who is the CEO of Rally Connex. With over 26 years off-roading experience, including competing in Red Bull Romaniacs, Lee has proven navigational skills and will guide participants through GPS route planning, tracking, and homing.
Registration: As there are a limited number of vacancies (40), prior registration is required.
The seminar will include practical and hands on training with common GPS devices.
Agenda topics include:
- Choosing a GPS
- Mounting and Powering Your Device
- GPS Operations and Navigation
- Using Garmin’s BaseCamp Software
While the course will use Garmin devices, practical scenarios will be common to all GPS navigation systems. Up to 10 Garmin units will be provided, and club members are encouraged to bring their own GPS devices.
As we expect this seminar to be quite popular, vacancies will be allocated on a priority basis to those members wishing to volunteer as guides/sweeps during club rides. However, everyone with an interest is encouraged to register.
