SUMMARY:Blake MacMillan Orientation Ride - Registration now open
DESCRIPTION:Be sure to read all information on this site carefully before proceeding. \nRegistration: 9:00 am\nRiders Meeting: 10:00 am\nRide goes until: 3:30 – 4:00 pm \nLOCATION: Near the Calabogie Highlands Golf Course (look for the signs for BMA parking). The staging area will be behind the tennis court on Spindle Drift Court \nREGISTRATION: Sign Up below. There are capacity limits. Register early to not miss out. \nCOST: Free for BMA members and only open to BMA members \nLUNCH: None Provided. \nSUMMARY: \nThe BMA is holding its spring Calabogie orientation ride in memory of Blake MacMillan. This event will bring members of the community together for a Calabogie south-side orientation ride with some trail clean-up as needed. \nAs one of the first BMA events of the season\, it will allow riders to get to know each other and familiarize themselves with the trail system. it is suitable for advanced novice to expert riders but is NOT suitable for children or beginners. Riders under 16 years of age need to be strong riders. \nTHE RIDE PLAN:  \n\nBe ready and fully geared for the riders’ meeting at 10:00 am\nRiders will self-select into three groups based on skill level\nEach group will have experienced riders to lead and sweep\nMost trails are single-track\, with some dirt roads and ATV tracks used as connectors\nCalabogie is a challenging ride area:\n\nIntermediate riders: ~50 km\nNovices: shorter distance\nExperts: longer distance\n\n\n\nParticipants should be mindful of their capabilities and are encouraged to ride within their limits. Expect something interesting from the BMA outdoor kitchen (drinks included). \nSUMMARY: \nBuilt by women\, for women — this is your space to ride\, learn\, and feel confident on the trails. \nWhether it’s your first time on a bike or you’ve been riding for years\, you’ll have the chance to ride with an incredible community of women who share the same passion. Join a group ride\, cruise the beginner-friendly green loop at your own pace\, and take breaks in our shaded lounge area to connect and recharge. \nGuys are welcome too — as long as they’re coming out to support their moto ladies. \nSUPPORT: Will be provided to load/unload your trailer and there will be a help onsite in case your bike isn’t doing what it’s supposed to do. \nCAMPING: We are looking at options for overnight stay – Wildwood Camp Grounds \nTHE RIDE PLAN: We will divide into groups based on skill level to conduct led rides of Limerick Forest.
