We have some great news, but... PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY!
The motorized season for Larose Forest opens May 16, and the Limerick Forest opens Saturday May 16th, 2020! However, ALL Provincial Covid-19 regulations will remain in effect.
The Larose Forest remains very soft and wet, with some parts of the trails submerged, therefore we recommend treading lightly and waiting until the forest has dried out more before riding.
The OPP SAVE Unit who have been out in Limerick on a regular basis this past few weeks advises the ongoing C-19 regulations are still in effect. Even if the public doesn't see any signage, it is every citizen's responsibility to know and abide by the C-19 rules and regulations. The OPP can/will charge people for non-compliance depending on the situation.
This will be critically important in the parking areas. So please be advised and pass the word to give each other lots of space when parking and loading/unloading trailers. This is a very unique situation and it will probably continue into the summer. So we ask everyone out there to remain flexible and cooperative.
The BMA recommends: If you are out on any trails at any time while Covid-19 regulations are in effect, that you consider packing gloves and masks if available in case you come across a fallen rider and need to assist. The same would apply to you if you were in need of assistance.
PS – As an “FYI”, Limerick has been extremely quiet since the trail closure. The OPP and Forest Managers have been pleasantly surprised and commend the public and partner clubs for all the compliance – "once in a while we have seen the odd vehicle parked on the side of the road where you can see someone has gone for a walk. But all in all amazing cooperation. Nice to see everyone working together!"
